Noble PTA is excited to partner with the Santa Clara County Board of Education to offer two engaging webinars that help parents support their children’s literacy development. These sessions are designed with early elementary learners in mind, but the strategies are also helpful for any child still building reading fluency. Supporting Reading Basics for Children

Through a Steps to Success grant, the Family and Community Engagement program is pleased to offer two workshops for parents and caregivers to support reading development for children.

Encouraging Literacy at Home - March 31 from noon-1pm

This workshop will provide practical and fun tips for parents and caregivers to support their child’s literacy development such as:

• talk about what you are doing and going to do

• have books available and read together

• play with sounds and make up silly rhymes

Interactive Read Aloud - April 28 from noon-1pm

This workshop will demonstrate an interactive read aloud - an engaging, high-impact instructional strategy where

parents, caregivers, and children can:

• build reading skills in a meaningful way

• interact using questions and discussions

• gain vocabulary and reading comprehension
