Exciting News! Big Thanks to Lori!!!
"Few days ago, Whole Foods Kids Foundation announced that Noble
Elementary PTA in Berryessa School District is the recipient of a $2,000 Garden Grant. The awarded grant will be used to communicate garden rules and care by building a large outdoor garden map, posted in the garden, with movable red (stop!), yellow (yield, caution required), and green (go for it!) color coding, plus classroom numbers to indicate which vegetable boxes belong to which classrooms.
"I think the most important aspect of signage is for it to use simple,
highly visible, symbols and color coding, with as little text as possible." Said Lori Pushinaitis, Noble PTA parent and garden volunteer, who submitted the grant application. "It is quick and easy way for everyone to figure out what areas to work on, even for volunteers who are distracted or those who are not native English speakers."
Noble PTA was able to start a school garden several years back thanks to the effort of a dedicated group of parents and with the help of Jubilee Christian Center.
The Whole Kids Foundation grant will help improve an already thriving community and school effort to provide an educational and safe space for students to learn about nature and science along with other Common Core Standards."

Hi Noble Families,
This is a reminder that if your child is interested in trying out for the Talent Show with an act and/or for emcee, the permission slips are BY THIS FRIDAY, 1/23.
Here is the schedule for the Noble's Got Talent 2015:
Th., Jan 29th - Auditions (1:30-4pm by appointment only)
Th., Feb 5th, 12th, 26th Rehearsals
Th., Mar 5th Performance Day (daytime assembly and night show)
If they are interested in trying out ONLY for emcee, they only need to turn that one form in. But if they want to perform in an act if they are not selected as emcee, then they must turn in both forms and do BOTH tryouts. Only 2 emcees will be selected (1 upper grade, 1 lower grade)
We are still looking for more volunteers to help with auditions and the talents show. It takes a lot of work to run the auditions, rehearsals and put the shows together, so please help to make this a great experience for all our performers.
For any questions, please email email@example.com

Fall Family Festival
Wow, what an amazing turnout! We hope you had as much fun as we did. Thank for making this an amazing night to remember!
Well, it's official. This year's walk-a-thon was a huge success! As promised, since the students raised over $4,000, Mrs. Ortiz, Mrs. Diana, and Ms. Peterson all got sprayed with silly string at today's flag pole. It was crazy, and the kids had a blast!
Thank you, thank you, thank you for encouraging your kids to walk and collect donations to benefit our school!
